Preparing for universal credit full service

10 October 2017, webinar

About the event

Time: 11.00am-12.00pm

Speaker: Priya Thethi, policy and practice officer, Chartered Institute of Housing

Chair: Yoric Irving-Clarke CIHCM, policy and research officer, Chartered Institute of Housing

Benefits of attending

Since April 2016, job centres in all parts of the country have been accepting some new claims onto the universal credit “live” service. However, a different, more comprehensive version of UC is now being gradually introduced across the country – full service.

The transition to full service has the potential to present significant challenges to housing organisations, in addition to those introduced by the simpler version of UC. Responding to these challenges will require creativity and resource, and planning ahead can make a significant difference to the impact of universal credit on your tenants.

This webinar will review the main differences between live and full services. Priya and Yoric will outline the problems which are being faced by organisations in areas where full service has already been rolled out, and give examples of best practice in how to prepare for these problems.

Delegates will have an opportunity to ask questions, but they are encouraged to share their own experiences of successes or challenges in preparing for full service rollout.
